Bulgaria to become a regional center of the digital economy in Eastern Europe: This opportunity was discussed during the first edition of the international conference IT Hub Connect 2018 that took place on March 26 and 27 in Sofia Tech Park.

The conference organized by the Indian-Bulgarian Business Chamber and the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria, under the auspices of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU, gathered over 400 government officials, business decision makers and experts of leading technology, banking and consulting companies from Bulgaria, India, USA, Serbia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Greece and Romania. IT HUB Connect supported by the Bulgarian Government, the Embassies of India and USA in Bulgaria, has set a common ground for successful long-term cooperation between the thriving IT industries in Southeastern Europe, India and US.

During those two days representatives of the European institutions, C-level executives, business experts and startup companies have explored the business challenges and opportunities focusing on four main areas – Innovations, Investments, Cybersecurity and Regulations. The agenda navigated the participants through hot topics such as the IT outlook for 2020 and beyond, the innovations as a generator for economy growth and social prosperity, digital and customer experience transformation, establishing of sustainable startup ecosystems, investments and outsourcing, the game changing regulations and cybersecurity. Over 50 speakers from 10 leading multinational companies such as Microsoft, Google, Cisco Systems, Software Group, IBM, Facebook, Tata Consultancy Services, EY, Vivacom, Deloitte, UniCredit Group, PwC, RSA, Telelink, Feuji and others, discussed the challenges of doing successful business across counties and continents, and leveraged Bulgaria as the Technology Hub of the Balkans and the European Gateway for India.
