We are pleased to inform you that the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in collaboration with US Consulate, Mumbai is organizing the first edition of ‘India U.S. Trade Townhall’ series with a focus on ‘India Pacific Vision: Economic Opportunities and Challenges for India’ on 14th January 2021, 18:30-20:00 IST.
The United States has designated the Indo-Pacific region as a top priority for them and a secure, reliable and robust U.S.-India partnership is vital to the success of the Indo-Pacific vision. India and U.S. have a strong strategic and economic partnership, reflected in our growing trade and investment linkages, and shared values of democracy, diversity and rule of law. U.S.-India bilateral trade peaked at nearly $150 billion in 2019, with the US reducing its trade deficit with India. The shared goal of $500 billion in trade will need concerted efforts on both sides to bolster trade facilitation. A strong two-way investment also paves the way for deeper engagement in diverse sectors, including healthcare, infrastructure, energy and the digital economy.
Through these Townhalls we are aiming to create greater awareness of the challenges and better understanding of benefits of economic cooperation across the Indo-Pacific region and advocate for a stronger and balanced bilateral trade reforms between Indian and US with the policy makers.
Guest delegates can attend the Panel discussion for free on 14th January 2021 from 1830 (IST) onwards.. Prior registration is mandatory;: https://tinyurl.com/y8qshacj
