We would like to inform you of the following changes regarding the electronic issuance of all Certificates of Origin (CoOs).

Please be advised that, effective from 1st January 2025, the Government of India has mandated the electronic issuance of all Certificates of Origin for exports from India to all countries. These CoOs are issued by designated authorities in India through the DGFT’s Trade Connect e-Platform (www.trade.gov.in).

All electronically issued CoOs are digitally signed, and each carries a unique certificate number along with a verifiable QR code. These features ensure the authenticity and integrity of the certificate and allow real-time verification by foreign customs authorities.

As the authenticity of these e-CoOs can be digitally verified, physically printed copies of the electronic certificates should be considered valid by the customs authorities of the importing country.
