About The Growth Net
The Growth Net Summit is an international meeting focusing on challenges facing Asia, Africa and Latin America, growth economies of the world and as to how collaboration can help address these issues; besides learning from each other’s experiences. The Summit, started in 2013, has emerged as a platform to reflect on the realities created by the emergence of new growth countries which are rapidly increasing their business, economy, trade, and financial interactions, and aspire to have a stronger voice in the global economy.
The last Summit brought together more than 67 speakers and 300 delegates from 39 countries including business and political leaders, eminent media personalities, senior officials, civil society and thought-leaders who shared insights and brainstormed on issues critical for generating and sustaining economic momentum in most emerging economies. Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley was the Chief Guest and delivered the Inaugural address at the last meeting. The Summit also featured keynote address by Power Minister Mr. Piyush Goyal; Railway Minister Mr. Suresh Prabhu; Foreign Secretary Dr. S Jaishankar; Commerce Secretary Ms. Rita Teaotia and Mr. Shaktikanta Das, Secretary, DEA, Ministry of Finance. Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, was the keynote speaker at the Opening Dinner of the Summit.
The upcoming Summit will focus on the economic prospects of India, China, Japan, Europe and the US and their impact on emerging market countries – and the world economy – over the next period. The role of private sector is a key focus area.
